The ingredients needed to make Malai Paneer:
Get 200 gms Paneer (Cubed)
Take 4 tblsp Oil
Prepare 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
Make ready 1 Large Onion (Finely Chopped)
Make ready 1 tblsp Ginger Garlic Paste
Take 15 Cashewnuts
Make ready 15 Almonds
Get 1 tblsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
Make ready 1 tblsp Coriander Powder
Get 2 tsp Cumin Powder
Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Take 1 tsp Awadhi Kadhai Veg Masala (You can use Garam Masala Powder)
Take 1 tblsp Kasuri Methi Leaves (Powdered)
Prepare 2 tblsp (or 1/2 cup) Amul Cream
Get 1 tsp Sugar
Prepare 1 tsp Salt or (As required)
Steps to make Malai Paneer:
Firstly, cut the paneer into cubes. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a non-stick pan. Add the paneer cubes.
Shallow fry the paneer cubes till golden and crispy. Drain and soak it in hot water for about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, soak cashewnuts and almonds in water for 30 minutes.
Remove the skin of the almonds. Transfer the soaked and blanched almonds and cashewnuts into a blender and blend it into a smooth puree. Set aside.
Add more 2 tablespoons oil into the same pan in which the paneer was fried. Add cumin seeds and allow it to sizzle.
Add the finely chopped onions and saute till the onions are golden brown in color.
When the onions turn brown, add in the ginger garlic paste and saute it well till the raw smell leaves.
Add in the spice powders ie. kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and turmeric powder and saute it well.
Now add in the puree made with the nuts. Add little water and mix well and saute for few minutes.
Add sugar and salt.
Add water and paneer and mix well.
Cover and cook on low flame for about 15-20 minutes.
Add in kasuri methi leaves (powdered) and awadhi kadhai veg masala or garam masala powder and mix well.
Add in cream and mix well.
Creamy Malai Paneer Gravy is ready. Serve it immediately with roti, paratha, naan, poori, bhaturas etc.
