  1. Prepare 2 tbsp oil
  2. Take 1 onion
  3. Make ready 1 inch ginger

  7. Make ready 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  8. Get 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  9. Make ready 1 cup water

Matar paneer is a regular dish in Punjabi households. It is ubiquitious dish and goes very well rice, puri and rice. Punjabi Style Matar Paneer Recipe: Cubed and fried paneer chunks, sauteed with peas, green chillies along with a host of spices, tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Matar paneer has paneer and matar/ green peas as main ingredients.

Steps to make Matar Paneer:
  1. In a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil and saute spices. - Add ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder and 1 tbsp besan. roast well. - Add in prepared onion tomato paste and saute well.
  2. Further add ¼ tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder and 1 tsp salt. - Now add 1 cup water and stir well. - Add in 1 cup peas and stir well. cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Add in 12 cubes paneer and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Now add 2 tbsp coriander, ¼ tsp garam masala and 1 tsp Kasuri methi. - Finally, enjoy matar paneer with roti or rice.
