  1. Prepare 1 cup onion paste
  2. Get 1 cup tomato pury
  3. Make ready 1-2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste

  6. Get 1-2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  7. Prepare 1-2 teaspoon red chilli powder

  10. Make ready 200 gram paneer cut into small pieces
  11. Get 100 grams peas
  12. Take to taste Salt

  16. Make ready 2-3 bay leaves

Matar paneer is a regular dish in Punjabi households. It is ubiquitious dish and goes very well rice, puri and rice. Punjabi Style Matar Paneer Recipe: Cubed and fried paneer chunks, sauteed with peas, green chillies along with a host of spices, tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Steps to make Matar Paneer:
  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in the pan and add cumin seeds and bay leaves.
  2. After the cumin seeds and bay leaves are little roasted add ginger garlic paste and cook for at least a minute.
  3. Add, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, onion paste and tomato pury and cook until the mixture leaves some oil
  4. After the mixture is cooked, add coriander and cumin powder, salt, cashew paste, peas and paneer to the mixture.
  5. If the mixture seems to be too thick, add water to get desired consistency of the gravy.
  6. Close the lid of the pan and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  7. And the dish is ready to be served. Garnish the dish with chopped coriander.
